Maria Pascuzzi
Sister of Saint Joseph from Brentwood, NY. She earned a doctorate of sacred theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University and a licentiate in sacred scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute, both in Rome. Currently she is an associate professor of New Testament at the University of San Diego, California-USA, and an expert on Pauline Scripture. Besides her numerous articles and essays she has contributed to Pauline studies with two recent texts: The New Collegeville Bible Commentary: First and Second Corinthians and Ethics and Ecclesiology and Church Discipline: A Rhetorical Analysis of 1 Corinthians 5.
Her research specialties include the Letters of Paul, the Application of Rhetorical Criticism to the New Testament, the New Perspective on Paul and the Law and the Emergence of Christianity in Jewish and Greco-Roman contexts.
Dr. Pascuzzi is a consultant to the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops.
